How does your equipment compare to that of your competitors?

• We pride ourselves in using only high quality steel in all of the playgrounds that we manufacture. Our swing sets are manufactured using only the best materials. The structure is manufactured using only the highest quality heavy gage Super 40 steel. This steel meets stringent quality and reliability requirements, as well as many steel industry certification standards. This pipe has a triple out side diameter coating which includes high purity zinc, a chromate conversion layer and a new superior clear organic coating. This, combined with a special I.D. coating creates a product that looks good and has the excellent corrosion resistance that you expect. The steel must also pass humidity and salt spray testing from certifying agencies and provides a very high level of customer satisfaction. The structural steel meets or exceeds ASTM F-1043. We have not found a competitor on the market who uses the same or equivalent grade of steel. By contrast, most competitors are using thin 18 gage tubing with a lower quality of galvanizing and we have not found anyone who has pipe that is galvanized on the inside.

Does your equipment require any maintenance?

• Our equipment is maintenance free, except for our redwood platforms. Our redwood platforms will need to be finished, and the finish will need to be maintained to keep the platforms looking good and free from weathering and splinters. Add the rubber tiles to your platform and you won’t have to worry about refinishing the redwood.
• Even though our equipment is maintenance free, it is prudent to periodically grease tire swing knuckles and to check bolts, nuts and set screws to make sure that they are tight, safe and secure.

What are the advantages of having a metal swing set in comparison to a wood swing set?

• Our metal swing sets are maintenance free – Wood swing sets require regular sanding and staining to keep the wood free from splintering and cracking.
• Our equipment is bolted together and tightened down securely and will remain tight and secure – wood swing sets will have to be checked and retightened on a regular basis to insure the safety of your children.
• Our swing hangers are clamped and bolted around the top rail for maximum safety – swing hangers on wood swing sets are most commonly just lag bolted into the top beam. Because of the swinging motion, lag bolts will work loose in the hole and eventually fall out. Even if the swing hangers are bolted through the top beam of a wooden swing set, they will still become loose with use and time.
• Our metal swing sets have much taller swing heights than wood swing sets.
• Our metal swing sets can confidently be used by kids of all ages and adults – As they grow, kids will become bored with wooden swing sets, generally because of the low swing height and because they become loose and wobbly.
• Our Component Playgrounds brand metal swing sets will be strong and secure for as long as you own it – wooden swing sets will become loose, creaky and wobbly with age.

What is the weight limit on Component Playgrounds brand equipment?

• Each individual swing is conservatively rated at 500 pounds. For example: An AF30 has three swings, so the AF30 is conservatively rated at 1500 pounds! The bending moment of the steel is actually 24,405 pounds. Like our steel, our chain meets or exceeds industry standards and has a 750 pound test rating. The chain is the weakest link in our system, but that weak link is tested to a whopping 750 pounds! So really, there is no weight limit! Moms and Dads can swing and play with confidence!

What is the diameter of your pipe?

• Top rails and ladders: 2 3/8”
• Legs and supports: 1 7/8”
• Basketball Poles: 4”
• Post swing uprights: 4”

Can we make changes to the swing set that we choose?

• YES! Because of the component design of our playgrounds, you can modify the structure and upgrade the slides, seats and various climbers etc to make it the way that you want it to be. Please feel free to call and ask us to customize your playground.

Can we add to our swing set in the future?

• YES! Because of the component design, it is easy to add on to your playground as your needs grow. Please call us to discuss your overall playground plans and we will make sure that your dream will become a reality!
• These models cannot be added to in the future: AF, PS and AR. We can add as many sections as you want when you order it.

How do I know if the playground I chose will fit into the space that I have?

• Each playground has the required ground space listed, as well as the minimum required play space. Use these measurements as a reference to measure your back yard.

If the playground that I want is too big for my space, can it be modified to fit into my space?

• In many cases, it can be modified to fit. Please call 1-877-530-0222 to discuss further.

I am planning on having soft fall ground cover under my swing set. Are there any specific preparations to be made to my swing set?

• Yes! If you are planning on having ground cover, please let your playground professional know of your intentions. It is necessary to add length to the bottom of the structure to accommodate the ground cover. For example: If you order a 10’ swing set and bring in 12” of wood chips, the finished height of the swing set will only be 9’ tall because of the wood chips unless extensions are added.
• Pipe extensions are available in 12” increments and will require additional expense. Discuss this with your playground professional at the time you place your order.
• Hint: Your playground will be easier to install if you wait and put in the groundcover after the playground is installed.

How will my swing set be installed into my back yard?

• Our playgrounds must be installed into concrete footings.
• Purchase 80 pound bags of high quality concrete mix at your local hardware store. Each individual set will have different amounts of concrete required. Please refer to instruction sheets for the amount necessary for your set.
• Each leg and ladder has the extra length necessary for cementing into the ground.

Will my playground be difficult to install?

• Each set comes complete with diagram and written instructions. Please read and understand the diagram and written instructions before you begin the installation process. Also, feel free to call us toll free with any installation questions that you may have.

• Generally speaking, our playgrounds are not difficult to install. Some are more complex than others and will require more time and possibly more muscle.
• Our equipment is heavy and built to last. As a result, it is best to have at least two strong adults available for the installation. Some larger sets may need to have a couple more strong helpers.

Will I need any special tools to install my playground?

• All of the tools necessary are common and found in most tool boxes, or they are easily purchased at the local hardware store. Each set comes with written instructions that include a list of the tools needed to complete the installation. Some of the tools that are necessary and common to all of the sets we offer are: Shovel, digging bar or pick, 9/16” wrench’s or ratchets, level, and a wheelbarrow. Depending on the set, a cordless or electric drill and various drill and driver bits may be required.

How long will it take to install my swing set?

• That answer will vary a lot depending on the swing set model that you have selected. Some swing sets will install in as little as 1.5 hours and some will take as long as 10 – 12 hours. As you discuss your swing set purchase with the playground professional at Component Playgrounds, ask about the installation time of particular model you have selected. All times are estimated and consider at least a two man crew to complete the work.

What forms of payment do you accept?

• We accept: Cash, Check, Visa, American Express and Mastercard.

What is your payment policy?

• All invoices are due and payable at the date of purchase unless otherwise specified. A late charge of 2% monthly (24% annually) will be charged on all late accounts. Title to any equipment or merchandise shall not pass to the purchaser until all sums due are paid in full. Component Playgrounds accepts cash, checks, visa and master card. All returned checks will be subject to a $20.00 fee. Purchaser agrees to pay all court costs and attorneys fees should collection proceedings be required.

Once I place my order, how long will it take until I receive my playground?

• Under normal conditions, it takes five to ten business days to process your order and prepare it for shipment.
• Once the playground is shipped, it will normally take 7 – 14 days for transit and delivery by the freight company. (shipping times are approximate and may vary depending on your location)

Is it possible to Will Call my order at your store?

• Absolutely! Component Playgrounds is located at: 1630 N Beck St, Salt Lake City, UT 84116. Many of our customers from Utah, Colorado, Nevada, Wyoming, Idaho, Arizona, Montana and California pick up their equipment regularly.
• We have had clients pick up their equipment from many other states as well. If you want to pick up your equipment at our store, please let us know in advance and we will have it ready and waiting for you!

What is your shipping policy?

• Component Playgrounds will process and ship most orders within five to ten business days from the purchase date. All orders must be paid in full before product will be shipped. Complete sets will be shipped via a common carrier truck line and are shipped F.O.B. destination. (Free shipping for you.) Most large sets will be shipped on one or more large pallets. Small parts orders may be shipped via Fed-EX ground and are shipped F.O.B. destination.

What is your return policy?

• Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase and must be accompanied by the original sales receipt or invoice. All products to be returned must be in new condition. If any returned products are brought back in other than new condition, Component Playgrounds may choose not to accept the return. Transportation costs for any returned items are the responsibility of the individual or party returning the product.

• All returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee that will be deducted from the amount to be refunded. If you paid with a credit or debit card, you must present the same card and the funds will be refunded to the credit/debit card. Cash refunds will be made with a Component Playgrounds company check. If you paid with a personal or business check, Component Playgrounds will refund these funds only via Component Playgrounds company check. Refund checks will be mailed within ten business days of the date that the product is returned. Custom made items may not be returned for refund or exchange.

• Any Products returned to Component Playgrounds after 30 days from the date of purchase are eligible for in store credit only. Returns will not be accepted after 60 days from the date of purchase.

What happens if I need to cancel my order?

• Order Cancellation: All orders are typically processed and shipped within five to ten business days. This means that any person desiring to cancel an order must do so with in four business days of placing the order. Any order cancelled with in the four day grace period will not be subject to the 25% restocking fee. Any order cancelled on or after the fifth day will be subject to a 25% restocking fee. Additional charges such as shipping and recovery costs will be charged if the equipment has been shipped out prior to the cancellation of your order. These costs will be deducted from the amount to be refunded.

When shopping online at the Component Playgrounds online store, am I safe and secure?

• When browsing and purchasing from componentplaygrounds.com, you have certain rights. Component Playgrounds owns and operates componentplaygrounds.com, and componentplaygroundsstore.com wishes all of our users to know and understand our policies when purchasing items from this web site. As you browse our site and purchase the best playground equipment available, we want you to feel safe and confident at each step of the process.

• First, you have the right to the privacy of all personal information that is entered on this web site. We pledge to keep your personal information safe and secure. Your personal information is encrypted using a secure server for maximum security. Componentplaygrounds.com does not sell, rent, give or trade your personal information to any third party, unless legally required to do so or under your consent.

Personal information such as your name, address, phone number and credit card details will be required to complete your order. Component Playgrounds agrees to keep your information confidential. When orders are placed over the phone, Component Playgrounds agrees to shred your credit card details immediately upon completion of your order being processed.

Does Component Playgrounds do custom work?

• Yes! Component Playgrounds will complete some custom work as requested. All custom made orders must be paid in full before production will begin. You are responsible to provide all measurements or drawings as they relate to your custom order. If your drawings or measurements are incorrect, Component Playgrounds will not be liable and the product cannot be returned. If you desire Component Playgrounds to rework the part to the correct dimensions, additional charges will apply.

• If a mistake is made and the custom part is not built as shown on your drawing or measurements, our liability is limited to the re-manufacture of the part to the correct dimensions. Custom orders are not refundable and cannot be returned.
